After 35 years, Henry Bourne closed his laboratory in October, 2007. As an emeritus professor at UCSF, he participates in the scientific enterprise by attending seminars and meetings of several laboratories and helping others to prepare work for publication. In addition, he hopes to write a book about the lives and motivations of experimental biologists.
