After 35 years, Henry
Bourne closed his laboratory in October, 2007. As an emeritus professor at
UCSF, he participates in the scientific enterprise by attending seminars and
meetings of several laboratories and helping others to prepare work for
publication. In addition, he hopes to write a book about the lives and
motivations of experimental biologists. This
