EMPLOYMENT

Postdoctoral Fellowships in Drug Discovery

The Cohen Group at the University of California San Francisco is currently seeking to appoint creative postdoctoral research fellows to work on projects targeting small molecule therapies for prion and protozoan diseases.

Successful candidates will be involved in the optimization of lead compounds in our drug discovery projects. In this position, the fellow will play a significant role in determining the direction of discovery chemistry efforts within a project. They will be responsible for carrying out the synthesis of novel compounds and/or compound libraries. Independent, hands-on synthesis, purification and characterization of compounds using modern techniques will be required. The fellow will also be expected to present data to internal and external multidisciplinary research groups.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Organic or Medicinal chemistry with a strong publication record in synthetic organic chemistry. Experience in structure-based drug design, SAR, assay development, and/or high throughput screening (HTS) would be an advantage. Excellent written and spoken English are essential.

If interested, please submit a CV, PDF files of selected publications and names of at least three referees by e-mail to postdoc (at) cmpharm.ucsf.edu.

The University of California San Francisco is an equal opportunity employer.
