(Updated Nov 30, 2003, words through chapter 18 )

Now with both traditional and simplified characters.

This dictionary is mostly the words in Practical Chinese Reader I.
And particularly the words I am learning in the class taught by Heather Ding at Laney College .

The dictionary is in two files. One presents the words in the order that they appear in the book. The other is in alphabetical order by Pinying. You will need the Adobe Acrobat reader to open the files on either a Mac or PC. The reader is free.

The English names of the radicals are based on the dictionary
What Character is that?
(traditional characters) by Pin-gam Go . You can see the radicals here .

I will continue updating the dictionary as my vocabulary improves!

Download the dictionary in alphabetical order
Download the dictionary in the original book order

I hope that you find it useful.
